About Rochdale AFC

Rochdale AFC is a professional football club that was founded in 1907, currently plying its trade in the Vanarama National League. It has enjoyed the majority of its success in the 21st century, sustaining seven seasons of third-tier football, including a record-high finish of eighth. The club has endured many highs and lows over the years, but is confident of a bright future. Central to this bright future is the development of thriving partnerships with local partners such as NYCDA.

The foundations of these on pitch club successes and highs were built on the Club's thriving Academy system, which produced a conveyor belt of local, young talent that would feature heavily in Dale's First Team. Many of these Academy products have also gone on to feature in the highest levels of English football, securing vital income for the Club. Ex-players of note who have been born locally and/ or come through our academy set up include Matt Gilks, Craig Dawson, Will Buckley, Jamie Allen, Callum Camps, Andy Cannon, Luke Matheson, Dan Adshead, Aaron Morley.

Providing opportunities and pathways for youngsters in the local community has always been at the forefront of Rochdale AFC's identity. Proceeds from Forever Dale will go towards funding these opportunities, helping to maintain that strong link with emerging talent in the local area and providing a potential income stream for the Club.

Where do the proceeds go?

All proceeds from the 'Forever Dale' partnership go towards supporting the club's official Academy offer and its associated community and youth player development activities. Success in this area is central to the club's long term vision and bringing local talent through our very own pathway is key to this.

As mentioned previously the club has a history of success in this area and wants to not only maintain this conveyor belt, but expand it. As we look to produce the next Matt Gilkes or provide opportunities for the next generation of Craig Dawsons, we cant do this alone. Partnerships with organisations like NYCDA are key, as well as with institutions like our friends and colleagues at the Rochdale AFC Community Trust, who play a vital role and Hopwood Hall, who provide invaluable assistance including facilities for our Academies activities.
